Chick-fil-New A's Delivery Method
"Why did the chicken cross the road?" has a new meaning thanks to Chick-fil-A. Soon, "Because you ordered it" could be the answer.
America's largest fried chicken chain will test robot delivery in Austin, Texas this summer.
The chicken will cross intersections without a driver.
The robots can drive on the road's edge or bike lane to avoid traffic & pedestrians, the company said.
Technology speeds up your order. Refraction AI, a company that creates lightweight, autonomous robots for "last-mile goods delivery in urban areas," will engineer the robots.
Short-distance robots use 80% less energy than conventional delivery, saving the company money.
According to a company release, the service is for nearby customers.
